From 1895 to the late 1920’s, this elegant and exciting manifestation of the glass maker and silversmith’s art garnered its own decorative rage. Originating in England, these electroplated sterling silver overlay on glass serving dishes, bowls, vases, candy dishes and other pieces adorned the tables of many refined households. The great depression caused many companies to go out of business. Artist Lynda Carr finds these chipped, tarnished and no longer wanted pieces at auctions to create unique one-of-a-kind pendants – finding a new life for these beautiful vintage glass dishes!
It's very rare for Lynda to come cross a black glass dish with silver overlay! It's exciting times when she does!
